FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 2018--
Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CYH) announced today that
subsidiaries of the Company have completed the sale of Sparks Health
System – 492-bed Sparks Regional Medical Center in Ft. Smith, Ark. and
103-bed Sparks Medical Center in Van Buren, Ark. and related businesses,
including physician clinic operations and outpatient services – to
Baptist Health in Little Rock, Ark. The effective date of the
transaction is November 1, 2018.
The hospitals are among the announced divestitures discussed on the
Company’s third quarter 2018 earnings call.
Community Health Systems affiliates continue to operate six hospitals in
Arkansas.
