Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CYH) announced today that
subsidiaries of the Company have signed a definitive agreement to sell
126-bed Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring, Florida, and its
associated assets to subsidiaries of HCA Healthcare (NYSE: HCA). The
transaction is expected to close in the fall of 2017, subject to
customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
The hospital included in this transaction is one of the 30 planned
hospital divestitures discussed on the Company’s first quarter 2017
earnings call.
